Can I ask some questions? Because I won't dare opinionate on the topic of feminism, it burns. Rachel Green in F.R.I.E.N.D.S truly said, "No Uterus, No opinion".
Summary:
1. Feminism is a crucial need of time now (2022) in Pakistan.
2. LGBTQ rights are okay, slogans and hashes like #ShalwarUtaroMulkSnwaro and #MeToAeseHiBethungi is not feminism.
3. In the last paragraph, ways in which you can be a feminist while staying loyal to the core cause of feminism are listed.

START:
Once when I was coming back to NUST, just a couple of metres outside gate 1, I saw a girl, 16 or 17 years of age, on a donkey cart. She was with her little 3/4-year-old sister... Looking lost, perhaps thinking of where her next meal would come from, her clothes were tattered with stains of the gravel roads where she must have sat with her little sister under the hot Sun.
Then I observed an elderly housewife-woman crossing this big fence which was set up by CDA, to not allow people onto the Srinagar highway. She looked 40 or 45 years old. After crossing, she then proceeded to help her 14/15-year-old girl climb it and both of them crossed over to the other side.
Such a sight is really common. And people from all strata of society see these women struggling in their daily lives every day. But with the same consistency, they observe this wretchedness of the Earth too and do nothing. Then what is the feminist movement if not support for females who can't help themselves? A collection of sale events for different brands? A social gathering to chant slogans and not actually change behaviours? What is this commotion?
I think and most people would agree, that right in Islamabad, women need feminists' support. From what I have studied, the vocal feminist leaders and activists know it too. And help not of the kind where you go to the march in a car, watch a drama (drama explained below) set up by an NGO, eat and drink cliché cakes and classic Pina Coladas, and then come back to the safety of our houses within walled, gated communities, to the comforts of our cosy bed. Most of these participant girls are being used to promote lesbianism, gay rights and other very true, but useless-at-this-time rights when they could have done so much for the untouchable wretches and cancelled females of our society that I described in two instances above. But for them, the fear of losing their comfortable bed at night is far more than the responsibility of making sure another girl like them sleeps in a half as good as theirs. This fear now has thrown them off the levels of humanity. They are rich sludges who create problems to solve them.
If it's an outing instead of an intense struggle at every step, you are harming the cause instead of helping it. Forget the villages, focus on your capital, bitch. Look around you. If a stupid guy like me can go out one day and find two cases where feminist intervention and support is immediately needed, then you, a daily commuter would find millions. Maybe you already know millions of such cases. How many did you solve?
Drama: Lesbianism is okay. Gay rights should be made legal. look, a man should not treat his wife like an 'object' or a 'thing' and these are all true statements. I agree with all of them. I tell my friends and family to be as free and independent as they possibly could be. What however is the drama of provocative banners? I mean, what's literally the purpose of such stuff, except cause discomfort and chaos in society? #ShalwarUtaroMulkSanwaro #MeToAeseHiBethungi #Blahblahblah ... what in the name of the holy lord is going on? Are these feminists? Is this feminism? If not, why is there no clarification given and spread on the same (massive) levels, as these hashtags and banners themselves? Is this how you're getting your rights like Equal work opportunities and Equal pay and Equal education and Changing mindsets of illiterate people towards their baby born girls? Is this how Non-governmental organizations promote the empowerment of women? Coz these banners feel more like ads of a fancy whorehouse/brothel. Sure, sit however you want to and wear whatever you want, no one gives a damn fuck about it, but why are you painting that up and raising the banner? Tell me, is there any ANY logic behind the hashtag ShalwarUtaroMulkSanwaro? If you also think it is not logical, then how the hell did it start, spread, influence and reach this level?
Feminism is getting out of homes individually, looking around you who in the female gender specifically needs help, and helping them. Simple. Most men can ask for help, they can get out of their homes and work. Most women can't. This is the difference. Your job as a feminist is to make sure this difference doesn't cause an imbalance in the help women get as compared to men. Your job is to make women empowered and educated like you, so they can help other women. Start with your home, your street and your colony. Your job is to start a chain of good change specifically among women of this country. There's no 'brand giving sales' or 'you visiting cafes' involved in such help. This is grinding, where the work gets done. Going in a park, bitching in an open mic about how your boyfriend doesn't allow you to meet other boys and party hard with them, is most respectfully, your personal problem. This is not feminism. Don't advertise your personal problems, they really are not massive populace's problems. Apni shalwaren utaro, apna ghr snvaro, Mulk ko beech me na ghseeto. Mulk ki beshtr ghreeb awam k pas to ab b shalwaron ki qmi hi he. Rb rakha.
