This documentary is very simply shot, making it impactful. All the value proposition rests on the shocking revelation of trainer after trainer being killed (a total of 70+ incidents) by Tilikum, a killer whale kept in jail for Seaworld's entertainment shows. After all this time, Tilikum is still doing shows in Orlando SeaWorld. (This review is of 2022). Netflix has been sued by the Seaworld to remove this documentary "spreading propaganda". Corporations win (owners of the sea world) and corporate slaves (the trainers) lose. This idea is very straight-forwardly put in the documentary. There is an ample mix of content (sad, happy, emotional, disturbing) that maintains a viewer's interest through every passing sequence right till the end. On one hand, this documentary is thoroughly deserving of a 4.5 rating because of its highlighting content to the plight of these beautiful creatures. (Imagine, for a moment, having to spend the rest of your life in a 10 x 10 room. Now imagine your size 9x9, being born in that room and then having to stay there until you die for another species (humans) entertainment). On the other hand however, it feels depraved to rate such a film so highly, when we see ourselves as a species forced to look into the mirror for what we really, truly, Disgusting.
